GALAXY LITHIUM- MT CATTLIN PROJECT
The Mt Cattlin operation produces a lithium concentrate (spodumene) product with up to a 6.0% Li2O grade that is trucked to Esperance Port for export to an Asian customer base.
As at 31 December 2019, Mt Cattlin had a Mineral Resource of 14.6Mt at 1.29% Li2O and an Ore Reserve of 8.2 Mt @ 1.29% Li2O.
Over 6 years’ study from the client to place the 1st order
First application of the WHIMS in spodumene is from LONGi, which it took over 6 years from 2007 for client to do the survey for the WHIMS suppliers. They travelled all over the world to do the study for nearly all the different suppliers’ factories, different mine sites and finally they choose LONGi as their supplier due to the technology advantage. At first our quality and the design are not quite satisfied to this client, but we worked together and tried hard to make the improvements. Finally we got the satisfaction of the client with all their repeat orders for different projects. The WHIMS and LIMS we now used for spodumene are not the design only from LONGi, but the experienced engineers in Spodumene industry of Australian through many years practices. Now we can call them Spodumene WHIMS and Sodumene LIMS as they are specially designed for this job.
Over 7 years’ tests
We did over 7 years tests for the clients over the world for the spodumene, and a lots of tests we did together with the clients which a lot of new processing technology applied in the current mine sites were bone in our lab.
Over 800 times’ tests
We are open minded for the tests and try different ways together with the clients which some we never tried, even have to do big changes to the equipments. And with over 800 times of tests, we put the tests results to practice and have proven our innovations which have changed current sites’ flow sheet of the spodumene process. Over 90 improvements, occupied over 95% of the Australian market of WHIMS supply for spodumene.To better suit the process of the spodumene process, together with the clients, we did over 90 improvements for our equipments which make us now occupy over 95% of the Australian market of WHIMS for Spodumene.
